Services are provided via multiple inpatient and outpatient settings by recognized leaders in their fields. Our physicians are supported by stroke-certified physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and registered nurses. Additionally, therapists, neuropsychologists, social workers and other clinical and administrative support staff help guide patients through their care experience.

The Region's only Comprehensive Stroke Rehabilitation Unit


Our neurohospitalists are part of the comprehensive Neuroscience Institute, working closely and collaboratively within the neurological specialties. You’ll practice under the direction of experienced neurologists to provide wide-ranging, seamlessly connected neurological care.

Position highlights:

  • Enjoy a highly desired schedule of seven on/seven off.
  • A growing program that is continuing to expand its geographic reach and services, such as teleneuro and telestroke.
  • The work is always new and exciting. You’ll never be bored, as you’ll see a variety of cases addressing all areas of neurology.
  • State-of-the-art biplane suite with two biplanes.
  • Stroke team emergency medicine physicians provide on-site patient care in collaboration with the on-call neurologist after hours.
  • Research initiatives are available and supported, but not contractually required. Current clinical trials include PONTI, ATACH-2, RE-SPECT ESUS and MaRISS, among others.
  • Optional faculty appointment is available.

Incentives include, among others:

  • A lucrative above-market (non-RVU–based) base salary with a quality incentive
  • Defined benefit pension plan, 403(b) and 457(b)
  • Loan repayment
  • Signing bonus
  • Fully covered relocation services

Outpatient Neurologists

Position highlights:

  • Enjoy a schedule that includes three to four days in the clinic.
  • You’ll help build upon this multi-specialty practice that brings a full continuum of care to our patients.
  • Opportunity to explore subspecialties and provide care in those areas.
  • An established, growing program in a region with high demand for neurology services.
  • Ability to make a difference in the community through patient care.
  • The work is always new and exciting. You’ll hit the ground running and never be bored, as you’ll see a variety of cases addressing all areas of neurology.

About Our Neuroscience Institute

  • Rochester Regional has a spoke and hub Comprehensive Stroke Center with three Primary Stroke Centers.
  • The Stroke Center at Rochester General Hospital, in addition to being a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Hospital, is also a Joint Commission-certified Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center.
  • Rochester Regional Health’s CARF-accredited Golisano Restorative Neurology & Rehabilitation Center is the region’s leading source for comprehensive neurologic rehabilitation care.
  • This fall, the Neuroscience Institute will see the addition of 18 exam rooms on the first floor of Rochester General Hospital.
  • This year, Rochester Regional will open the new, state-of-the-art Sands-Constellation Center for Critical Care. The Center for Critical Care Tower is a seven-story, 312,000-square-foot project that will have a brand-new Neuro CCU, as well as more than 100 private patient rooms.
